International conference Abdurahmon Jomi and Alisher Navoi in eastern literature”-dedicated to the 590th anniversary of the great poet-philosopher Abdurahmon Jomi was held jointly with Samarkand State University and in Samarkand, on September 16-17, 2004 due to financial assiatnce from O the Embassy of Islamic Republic of Iran in Uzbekistan.
Over 50 scholars from Iran, Pakistan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan (Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara, Termez etc.), attended the conference.
The reports of scholars covered questions of creativity of the great poets – Abdurahmon Jomi and Alisher Navoi and their contribution to the Persian-Tajik philology, Uzbek literature, language and features of lyrics of the poets, the friendship of the great poets of the time and their role in Uzbek literature. |
