The book contains the materials of the International Conference “Culture of Nomadic People of Central Asia” which was organized by IICAS on 22-24, November 2007, Samarkand . The conference was dedicated to memory of the outstanding archeologist A.M. Mandelshtam.

Scholars and specialists from Azerbaijan, Iran, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkey and Uzbekistan took part at the work of the conference.

The conference worked in three sections:

•  The roots of Nomadic culture and earlier nomads of Central Asia.

•  Huns and Turks of Central Asia.

•  Culture of the Middle Age societies and ethnology of the people of Central Asia.
